Ever visited a flea market, dug for some records and wanted to listen before you bought them? Ever visited a record store and found a record that was a bit overpriced in your opinion? You can have no more complaints with this useful app for your iPhone. iCrates serves up conclusive record information alongside marketplace details and pre-listening as an all-in-one app. A must have for every record collector and anyone who plans on being one. Time to get a little deeper into the details…
We stumbled upon this app about a year ago in the iTunes App Store and really felt in love with it. This little tool has provided us with a lot of useful information and current prices for James Brown, Bob James, Janet Jackson and Ron Trent vinyl records we dug on flea markets in Berlin and Frankfurt with great success.
But it doesn’t only help you find vinyl records. The iCrates app gives you instant access to the biggest music databases and marketplaces such as Discogs, eBay, Amazon and iTunes and provides you with information about CDs, Tapes and vinyl. It allows you to search for artists, releases and labels on the go. You can listen to tracks and audio samples, watch videos and share your findings with friends on Twitter, Facebook or by email. You can also use its integrated barcode scanner, that gives you instant access for the scanned product. But pictures tell us more than words. Take a closer look at the functions of iCrates with this video tour:
The app also includes the iCrates Magazine with stories, reviews and interviews as well as guides to the hottest record stores and markets on the planet. It’s absolutely worth the little fee of 2,39 EUR.
